Should I look for current "Nachos-life" to end on Monday, then new life begins on 10pm Monday night (PACS assignment due). Ready to finish watching all the TV episodes, Taiwanese entertainment shows (2 weeks of them), and sleep whenever and "longever".

But before that, one more night to go...I guess 341 is not even possible at this moment, unless I am a genius to do a 2-week assignment in 0.5 day

The opening line of Anna Karenina
"happy families are all alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way"

托爾斯泰說:「所有幸福的家庭都是相似的,但所有不幸的家庭卻各有其悲哀。」

Anyway, OS is sad, all group members are still up at 10:30, when Larry asked "Is Jerry spelled as M-A-R-Y?" then we know it's about time to end

PMATH is done (somewhat BSed), but there's been some entertainment during the work (i.e. Lairon), I'll leave the details to Maggie then. Or you can visit their house and check out the whiteboard. (We promise not to publicly announce it, so it's Maggie's job now)
Finally able to sleep for continusly hours (4pm - 11pm), and I'm not tired now, surprise! Plan is to sleep after either PMATH or 370 (should I catch up on Tarzan, or do work?)

Most effective CEOs in order: IBM (Samuel Palmisano), Microsoft (Steve Ballmer), HP(Carly Fiorina), Oracle (Larry Ellison), Sun (Scott McNealy). 6-10th are CA (Sanjay Kumar), Veritas (Gary Bloom), Intel (Paul Otellini), Apple (Steve Jobs), SONY

Note: peanut butter with cheesecake is wrong, jam with cheesecake is not interesting, so please just eat cheesecake alone

Who bothers reading anymore? school life is just draggin, I count days and work by assignments, not by days & nights or weekdays & weekends. Although it seems like more school-irrelevant stuff happens more when there's actually more work to do.
Sigh, someone asked me "You were in the girl talk, because they see you as a girl, or ... ?" We'll just leave at that, I just happened to be there & not sleeping. However, likewise, it is very interesting to hear how girls think, especially these two. Draggin, Dragging ... I look forward to next Tuesday because I can at least take a real break before studying!!
Darn, Rachelle the bear didn't go unnoticed, I was trying to place it there as a Jerry-dummy so I don't have to be. It has a comfy foot to lie on :)

OS Demo was surprisingly okay, at least not as bad as Rachelle mentioned it, thanks to lots of help from Chris. You're the man! (and plz don't love Intel & Real-time that much = you're a geek)
Came across Blogger's announcement about this guy fired by M$ because he posted picture of Apple PowerMac G5 and mentioned he worked there -> Security Breach and he was escorted out of the M$ building next day. ARTICLE. Isn't that scary? another demonstration of the powerful mighty M$ having their ways~
Our plan to work on OS tonight didn't work, people felt like slacking off and I felt very tired. Miscommunication between me & my brother wasted me 3 hours at school before finally getting home. Anyway, should be sleeping soon but "NO" class tomorrow, what the hell......
Though seriously I would like to do the course evaluation for OS as well as 341&370 today, my 341 comment was not pretty while 370 is excellent

Wednesday, November 19, 2003

We were trying to prepare for the OS demo today (Wednesday), but "trying" != "did anything". We basically only reviewed our test cases (since it's been a while and our brains were occupied with all other non-OS courses), and period.
But this is socialization, we chatted, attacked poor Lairon, arguing arguments, and have some fun & entertainment (except Lairon?), so it's not too bad, even though we should be working all the time. But life without fun isn't life anymore, is it! So enjoy while we can~
Suggested to Lairon that she should be doing BLOG too, so other people can enjoy from reading "her suffering"... though I don't poke Lairon, I feel her sadness ^^!

Look, it's 7:00 am now, this is worse than I expected. CS370 took longer than it should be because we keep fixing up minor changes, but it's all done at 4 am.
Why am I still here than? Watched 3 episode of Jake 2.0 so I can delete them to clear out space. Whew~ temporarily free until weekend
Another back-to-Mississauga trip for our OS group apparently, and we might watch The Matrix I/II DVD to enjoy the weekend (besides doing OS)
Time for bed now, it feels so good to not go to school for the whole day (sorry, say No to Zima). I'm sure those sleepless enginners would wish our lives

Downloader Joke: I spelled Tolerance for 370 assignment (image compression) as "Torrent" (hint: BitTorrent?) HA HA HA, I'm sad

Slept at 11 am and woke up at 6 pm, that's a first for me. (It's all Maggie's fault, she's affecting everybody). Sob Sob for no Alias/10-8 tonight because they have the American Music Awards. Who's gonna watch that?

Guess my sleeping habit is still suffering from CS341 assignment (the one prof said should be straight-forward), we'll see how the average goes. CS370? started a bit, not that concerned about it now.

Yes, I admit I "innociently" mentioned the pink slipper to Lairon, because I was afraid she'll never be aware of it the whole night (she can be). But watching her "attempts of searching" is painful because she either gives up fast, or ask hints for every next move. Next time we probably have to think like her to hide her things. Poor pink slippers ...

Dead Like Me

Dead Like Me, Dead like everybody taking CS341 ... Official hell course for me out of all courses

Thursday, November 13, 2003

Snow Snow Snow, they are here. First taste of real winter
Plus power outages in the early hours. My computer rebooted 3 times until I re-routed all powers through my UPS (now I find UPS useful) which is quite annoying b/c I have to re-download all the things I was originally downloading before power surge visited.
Anyway, still not enough of sleep because I think tea/coffee is too effective for me and I just couldn't sleep. Therefore watched last Friday's JAG and wasted some time on the bed before I finally passed out.
Woke up and went to school, geez, whoever mentioned that this 341 assignment is easy (=Zima) is kidding, b/c there are line-ups everywhere there's 341 TA. Sob Sob, why is this a requirement

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

Imagine a Tim Horton in SLC, I don't know if I should be happy about that or feel bad about Enterprise entering into school and getting our money (Seriously, other than one more place to spend $$, what do we get from it? )

School's not turning out well. Everybody's waking up late now (4-7pm) except Lairon, strange. Engineers have worse projects and schedules than us, so I'm not complaining that much now. But I'm so gonna write "This course sucks" on 341's course evaluation, I encourage everybody to join me. At least PMATH is done now

We get Chris (the guy who knows Nachos inside out) for our OS demo............... scary!!!

Monday, November 10, 2003

The weekend ended on a okay note, since we got OS finished. But I've come to several conclusions
1. CS/Engineering students are so spoiled, we don't eat properly, sleep properly (unless you call sleeping at 7am and wake up at 4pm proper)
2. There are people walking around inside MC when I handed in written part for OS at 4:30am -> spoiled

Anyway, this weekend wasn't too bad. Finally able to sleep +9 hours (slept/wakeup 2am/2pm Saturday, 7am/4pm Sunday) and performed some OS
by the way, watched Matrix Revolution on Friday night, walked out with confusion and ! (action wasn't so bad, but all the reviews are so BAD)

Another weekend of hell starts, PMATH (Wednesday) -> CS341 (Friday) -> CS370 (next Tuesday) -> more HELL?

Thursday, November 06, 2003

All of sudden, it's Thursday now = Friends & ER. Took over some businesses today (renew my plate sticker, renew insurance, renew driver license). See how much 2 tickets would motivate you? As for school, I've missed quite a bit (basically, since 341 midterm on Monday night, I've only attended 1 lecture of PMATH), this is BAD. Slept around 9am this morning b/c came home around 8:30 (why? what else? OS).
Anyway, it's funny that I'm going back to Mississauga this weekend (not entirely my choice) for 2 purposes. Do OS with my group since they'll be there, and for my brother's interview on Saturday at Brampton. Still deciding if I want to see the Matrix on Friday night, I guess so!

Wednesday, November 05, 2003

I don't know what to say. When bad luck hits you, there's no way to escape it >< Sigh, more reasons to not like Waterloo.

Monday, November 03, 2003

Co-op building (who calls it Tatham Centre anyway) closes at 8 pm, that sucks. Think about it, any other building that closes in university campus? Then where would the poor students go? (MC, Enginnering, DC, SLC, etc. never close, not to mention Needless Hall). Therefore I couldn't check my schedule with coordination regarding my job, perfect. Glad that there's Internet version, and my meeting is 9:50am in TC3238. That sucks being so early

Let's not talk about CS341 midterm. I didn't like it, and it was too long (that happens to all my CS midterms), only comfort is that I got 85% on PACS midterm, what a pleasant surprise!!! Minor effect was that I got whacked by Lairon. What can I say? I didn't get to see Andromeda @@
Monday morning, 15 hours till CS341 midterm, sigh! Enough is enough, this is really too much for everybody and we say that every term regardless :)
Still, I watched Alias and 10-8 for humor and enjoyment and I was glad that they were good episodes. Internet is weird for me, I'm thinking about switching to 3M/640 again, but we'll see. All I can think about now, is work-term, where it's midterm-free & assignment-free. YEAH!
Right now, I'm working on the CS341 cheat-sheet, trying to fit as much as possible onto it. It feels so weird to have a cheat-sheet for CS course (CS370 is more like math course rather than CS, so doesn't really count)

Note: Added a counter on the right side, I'm desperate to know how many people visit me ^_^

Saturday, November 01, 2003

First day of november, reminded me of "Sweet November", heard that it was bad, glad I didn't watch it.
Spent my Halloween watching NBA (Raptors won!) and JAG (quite funny, seeing Harm from JAG to CIA agent, then to crop dusting pilot)
CS341 isn't progressing well, because the whole course is just so vague and theoritical, what's there to know? Other than all those proofs and algorithms @@
And this will be the 2nd course that allow us to bring in addition resources (cheat sheet), I hate that. Wherever cheat sheet is allowed, usually the exam won't be too pretty.
Sigh, the closest time I can work on my FTP and Website (plan to do Chinese & English versions) will be the work term. But then I may get occupied with Oracle and have a lot fun with PL/SQL. Good thing is, I got matched with Unisen Inc. so I'm basically set for my last 2 work terms at Waterloo.
